Baby Shower No.2

I wasn’t sure for a while if I would be able to do an in person bath shower even this time around! We kept waiting to see if everything would get shut down again but luckily in the end we were able to go ahead and it was so nice to be able to have people physically together.

With having Oscar now I wanted to have the shower somewhere that was toddler friendly so he could enjoy it too. I‘d recently come across Beanblock Cafe in Newark as a place to take Oscar on play dates so when I found that they could host baby showers I knew it would be the perfect venue.

Having Beanblock as our host venue made everything so easy for us! We were able to hire the whole cafe and play area to ourselves for a few hours which was perfect - Oscar and his little friends could play safely, all the decorations were sorted for us (including a beautiful rainbow balloon arch) and the cafe sorted all the food out for us too. The only food we brought ourselves was our celebration cake which my sister made for us!

I was super worried about the little ones being bored so I also put together some little goodie bags for them with some extra toys and fiddly bits. They didn’t really need them in the end but it was still something nice for them to go home with!

We also had some games for the adults to play which we bought from Amazon. They worked really well for just an extra something for people to do if they wanted - we had:

- voting to guess the gender of the baby

- baby charades

- baby themed true or false quiz

Everything worked together perfectly! Would definitely recommend BeanBlock cafe as a host for baby showers or parties for your little one - they are somewhere I will for sure be looking at again for parties for Oscar.
